The NATE-Certification Advantage

March 20, 2018

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning takes pride in sending NATE-Certified technicians into customers’ homes throughout North America every day. While this notation of being Nate-Certified decidedly sounds reaffirming, what does it actually mean?

NATE, an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence, is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. NATE is the certification organization that was developed by and has been acknowledged by the entire HVACR industry for nearly 20 years. However, not all technicians in the business have to be NATE-Certified. The certification is elective and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment without the accreditation.

It’s important to Service Experts that our team is NATE-Certified to make sure we are putting the most qualified technicians into our customers’ homes. To make sure technicians meet these benchmarks, the NATE-Certification exams confirm real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based exams that evaluate the technician’s understanding of these rules.

Due to the fact that Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses mainly on the HVAC side of NATE-Certification, our technicians attain their designations in these areas. However, NATE assessment candidates may gain certification in one or more of these areas:

  • Air Conditioning
  • Air Distribution
  • Gas Heating
  • Oil Heating
  • Heat Pumps
  • Hydronic Gas (service only)
  • Hydronics Oil (service only)
  • Light Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
  • Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
  • Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installer
  • Senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst

You can be assured that the technicians at Service Experts are highly competent and professional and will do the job right from the beginning. Our company has the know-how and skill set to not only fix your HVAC systems, but to take the best care of your equipment. Call to have one of our NATE-Certified experts check out your HVAC system to ensure that it is ready to keep your family comfortable all year long.
