What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some of the most usual air conditioning problems in Columbus.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner working but there isn’t cool air blowing, you may need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so an additional issue to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is restricted. If you can check these matters, you may be able to find the issue; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause major cooling troubles. Another issue that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and perform an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and needs cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be all set. Remember that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm up again, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your issue, whatever AC trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
